ABOUT KEVIN STEWART PHOTOGRAPHY

Having a grandfather who was an avid photographer and videographer, I've been around cameras and photography for as long as I can remember.  Mostly, as the subject in many of his shoots.  Over time, I transitioned to the other side of the lens and became a hobbyist of the photography world.  I joined the Woodsfield High School Annual Staff in 1990 where I learned how to properly compose and shoot using a Nikon N2020 and many other 35mm film cameras.  So I suppose you can say I'm a little 'Old School', but I learned photography by rolling my own film, shooting in manual, processing the negatives and printing my photos in a darkroom.  

Then, the Air Force would take me on many adventures for the next 20 years and photography took a slight step back to make way for a wife and two daughters (as well as our dogs).  Eventually, as my Air Force career ended, the passion for photography would be reignited when my grandmother gave me my [now deceased] grandfather's Mamiya RB67 Pro S. I began by shooting photos of family members, friends and nature, and soon reinvented own personal style.  I ditched an old Nikon DSLR for a mirrorless camera and was back in the trenches of photography.  Deciding on a career in photography in 2020 was the easiest choice I have ever made, and I’ve never looked back.  In January 2022, I decided to take the small business route and established Kevin Stewart Photography, LLC.

I strive to utilize the best equipment available, and currently shoot with the Sony a7IV which I have discovered takes amazing photographs.  Whenever possible, I hold pre-shoot consultations with clients to get a better understanding of their vision and preferences.
